Progress on airframe covering

After the wing structure assembly was completed by adding composite wingtips and leading edge intermediate ribs we were ready to proceed with wing covering. Each half of the wing due to its size was covered by two separate dacron sheets. The lower surface was applied first. The front and rear edges were cemented around the wing spar tubes. Then we applied the upper surface with an overlap on the lower surface by 8…10 cm. Afterwards the dacron was stretched using an iron and nitrocellon was applied.
Next step will be the two-color painting. While we are working on the paint job design, several things need to be completed before the EC Goat can get airborne.
